Demo: Join Shary Bartlett as she shares the magic of encaustic: layering molten beeswax paint, carving 3D textures, illustrating paintings with photo transfers, and integrating mixed media collage. Discover the ancient art of painting with molten beeswax, damar resin, and pigment. This fine art technique offers captivating translucence, depth, and a glossy sheen, enhancing paintings, sculptures, and mixed media.
Installation: Bartlett’s studio installation, “Interlaced,” invites spectators to physically engage with a multiplicity of lacy tendrils suspended from the artist’s studio ceiling. Viewers are invited to use the flashlight on their digital device to cast shadows and make moving pictures using the phone’s flashlight upon the gyred fibre sculpture.
