Shary Bartlett’s paintings are inspired by nature, using a medium that is also natural: molten beeswax. Her techniques are a modern adaption of the ancient art of ENCAUSTIC, known for its ethereal translucent depth that ranges from richly textured to glassy smooth. Shary’s paintings are held in public and private collections in Canada and the US. She teaches art internationally and nationally and has been a long-time fine arts instructor at Capilano University, Langara College and recently, Red Deer College. Shary’s encaustic mixed media work and techniques are published in the books, Encaustic Art in the 21st Century and Encaustic Revelation. Her personally-curated encaustic wax pigments sets, created with Enkaustikos Paints, are sold internationally.
