A Collective Point in Time

The Culture Crawl’s 9th annual film and video series.

“You can’t turn back the clock. But you can wind it up again.” – Bonnie Prudden

A point in time, a rift in space. As the cloud of restrictions lifted, artists emerged from time machines of self-reflection to embrace time, space and travel. Histories were juxtaposed, pulled apart, and reinterpreted. Barriers expanded, contracted, and were transformed into signposts for community and opportunity. The personal became panoramic, diaspora domestic, and the common unique.  A bison runs with an iron horse, cone worms break boundaries, and birds herald virtual worlds orbited by a new planet and explored by extraordinary lanterns. Alone, we peeled the orange of grief, but together we celebrate our collective force.

This year’s selections reflect an awareness of our shared humanity buffeted by space, time, and the stardust that weaves us together and populates our genetic code.
