Multimedia installation by Kate MacDonald and Les Sears based on Plato’s Allegory of the Cave
“After Altamira, all is decadence.”– Picasso on paleolithic cave paintings
The cave was the original art installation. Join collaborative artists Kate MacDonald and Les Sears (K8L35) in their studio for a multimedia installation incorporating two and three-dimensional artworks with light and multichannel projections. Examining symbolic behaviour through Plato’s Allegory of the Cave as a metaphorical bridge between cave painting and contemporary art, K8L35 ask: if modern reality is socially constructed through communication – what do the symbols we recognize say about us?
